Terms of Service

Last updated 13 June 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Newspoken (“we”, “us”) covering your use of the Newspoken mobile app and website (together, the “Service”). By using the Service you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

Using Newspoken

Newspoken delivers one selected word each day, drawn from current news, with a definition and context. You may use the Service for your own personal, non-commercial learning.

  • You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
  • Don’t misuse the Service — no attempting to break, overload, or reverse-engineer it, and no scraping our content for redistribution.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

Words, content, and sharing

Daily words, definitions, etymologies, and the news context are ours or our licensors’. News headlines and article links belong to their respective publishers; we link to them for context and don’t claim ownership of their articles.

Newspoken lets you share a word via a public link. When you share a word, you’re creating a publicly accessible page for that word. Don’t use sharing to distribute unlawful content or to misrepresent the source of a word.

Subscriptions and payments

Newspoken is free to start. Some features may require a paid subscription (“Premium”). Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and are subject to their terms. Renewals, cancellations, and refunds are handled by the relevant app store; manage them in your store account.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may update these terms. If we make a material change, we’ll give reasonable notice in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Disclaimers and liability

The Service is provided “as is”. Definitions and context are offered for learning and may not be exhaustive or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the Service.
